ABOUT
Bike Wānaka –
supporting the biking community in Wānaka for over 30 years.
Our priorities
As our Wānaka community flourishes, so does our dynamic bike scene. Bike Wānaka is a charitable organisation powered by a passionate group of volunteers, dedicated to growing a thriving bike community in our region. We host events, champion the interests of our members and the community, and maintain and develop trail networks and bike parks. From beginners to seasoned pros, and from lakeside cruisers and commuters to adrenaline junkies, Bike Wānaka is a club that welcomes all. We partner with other local charities to incorporate plantings into all of our projects.
Our priorities are:
- Advocate for Sticky Forest to remain a recreational asset for the community
- Advocate for biking trails on Mt Iron reserve
- Build new tracks and bike parks
- Maintain existing track network and bike parks
- Hold bike events, accessible for all, throughout each year
- Provide great discounts and deals for our members
- Advocate for broader cycling issues in Wānaka
- Build strong relationships with partner organisations – DOC, QLDC, and Upper Clutha Tracks Trust.
